The importance of the manager’s leadership
The importance of leadership for
positions of responsibility is essential for the future of a company. A
manager, who is a real leader, is able to motivate his/her team to give their
best, commit themselves and get involved in their project.
A survey conducted by Lee Hecht Harrison among 1900 leaders all over the
world showed that only 31% of project managers or area managers are satisfied
with the responsibilities they have. 71% of the companies agree on the importance
of leaders for their organization. However, they believe that only 45% of them
are committed to the position they hold in the company.
Today’s leaders should count on a set of skills and competences. Take note.
1. Capacity to understand
business issues that help them to make wise strategic decisions
2. Understand all the
decision-making process
3. Capacity to analyse and understand the
financial structure of the company
4. Understand the dynamic
structure of the organization, in order to develop good strategies.
5. Apply the best investigation
and innovation tools
6. Manage their work according to
the ethics of the company and ensure its social responsibility
7. Manage, motivate and involve
the human team
8. Understand the main human
resources practices
The leader is the mirror that reflects the whole team. From the World Economic Forum, leadership is stressed as an option we must choose, as not everybody is born for it. This is a difficult task and the leader should be able to assume functions with full responsibility and always work for the good of the community.
In the Management Masters, we
work on these skills that make a good leader.
