The INDEM meetings are an initiative that aims to be a meeting point for a variety of audiences related to the academic and business sectors. The purpose is to address issues and current topics from different perspectives, enriching all attendees. The INDEM will be the link that connects these different points of view and heterogeneous interests with business world.

Creating your own company is a widely chosen option at the international level to offer new products and/or services that satisfy the needs of users.

But, entrepreneurhip is not easy. Becoming an entrepreneur requires a deep knowledge of the market, developing a competitive an scalable solution, designing an organization an its processes and, most of all, making key decisions in an uncertain and changing environment.

In this second INDEM Meeting, we will talk about the culture of entrepreneurship and its characteristics, and we will analyze how entrepreneurial values can be promoted through two great success stories such as BlaBlaCar and Hewlett Packard.

Jordi Ballera

Corporate communications consultant specialized in research and strategic planning. Over the last 20 years, he has developed his career in communication agencies, where he has been executive vice president of Edelman in Spain and general manager of Zero in Spain. 

Jordi has a degree in Advertising and Public Relations from the Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona, a Master’s in Business Communication from ESIC, a Certified Project Manager from Stanford University and a Professional Certificate in Innovation and Entrepreneurship from Stanford University.

Itziar García

Itziar is the manager of communication and institutional relations of BlaBlaCar Spain and Portugal since 2018. In the summer of 2020, she has taken on the responsibility of leading the company’s institutional relations in both countries.

She worked for seven years in the insurance sector. After six years as manager in communication agencies as Burson-Marsteller and Edelman, she confirmed that public relations was her vocation. In fact, during her five years at Burson-Marsteller BlaBlaCar was one of her most important customers.

She has a degree in Business Studies from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, a degree in Advertising and Public Relations from the UOC and a Master’s degree in Communication Management from ESERP

Lidia Pitzalis

Lidia has a large experience in the techology and video games sector. Italian by birth and traveller by conviction, she worked in Apple Developer Program and in the technical support of programs like flash in Edimburgh. She founded the online videogame magazine GamesReview and worked twelve years at Microsoft, mainly in communication, marketing and product manager of Xbox.

She currently runs the sustainable jewelry firm she created, Collartz.com, and she is an HP ambassador for universities, where she conducts collaborative programs ranging from 3D printing virtual reality and the transformation of modern educatinal spaces.

She has a degree in Philology by the University of Cagliary (Italy) and a Master’s degree in Communication and Business Management by IE
