The Institute for the Development of Enterprises and Markets (INDEM) of Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, in collaboration with Neovantas, has revealed the results of the 2nd edition of the Spanish Innovation Index (ÍEI), which was conducted throughout 2023. This index highlights the most innovative brands in 21 sectors of the Spanish market according to consumers' perception. At the awards ceremony for the most innovative companies, Apple, Balay, Cabify, Toyota and Zara stood out.ç

The event, held at UC3M's Madrid-Puerta de Toledo campus, was presided over by authorities such as the General Secretary for Innovation of the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, Teresa Riesgo. The presentation of the index was given by the director of INDEM, Lluis Santamaría, who highlighted the usefulness of the ÍEI for companies and the reference value it represents for the sectors. In addition, the event included a presentation on Behavioral Innovation by Juan de Rus, director and partner of Neovantas, who highlighted the importance of behavioral economics in companies.

Lola Duque, responsible for the ÍEI, presented the results for 2023, pointing out the stability in the ranking and the preference of consumers for social and sustainable innovation over digital innovation. The ceremony concluded with a panel of representatives from some of the winning companies, including Ikea, Balay and Ouigo, sharing their innovation experiences. 

The 2nd edition of the ÍEI was based on more than 23,000 surveys that analyzed 120 brands from 21 sectors in the Spanish market. Detailed results by index and sector can be found at: https://indicedeinnovacion.uc3m.es/resultados/
