The Institute for the Development of Enterprises and Markets (INDEM) of the University Carlos III of Madrid, in collaboration with Neovantas, presented the results of the 3rd edition of the Spanish Innovation Index (ÍEI) on March 13, 2025. The event was chaired by the Deputy Vice Rector for Entrepreneurship and Research Program, Cristina Castejón. This index highlights the most innovative brands in 21 sectors of the Spanish market according to the perception of consumers, as well as the best valued companies in the dimensions of commercial, social/environmental and digital innovation.
This initiative is led by professors Luis Santamaría and Lola Duque (director and secretary of INDEM, respectively), who presented the results of the first three years of the ÍEI, highlighting the importance of this edition as it allows the identification of sectorial trends and dynamics from the perspective of Spanish consumers. In addition, the event included two presentations related to innovation and the use of artificial intelligence, by Professor Werner Kunz (University of Boston Massachusetts and senior editor of the Journal of Service Research) and Juan de Rus, director and partner of Neovantas.
The guests on the panel of outstanding companies in perceived innovation were Meliá, ING and Uber, who shared enriching experiences on how they manage innovation. This panel was moderated by Emma Bernardo, marketing director of Neovantas and Lola Duque.
The event concluded with the 2025 innovation awards ceremony, in which Apple, Meliá, Movistar, Toyota and Zara stood out for their excellent results during 2024.
