It represents a unique opportunity to attend lectures by expert faculty, and also, to interact with colleagues and receive feedback both on developed (papers) and developing projects (early stage ideas).<\/p>\n<p>This XVIII edition is organized by INDEM (Universidad Carlos III de Madrid) in collaboration with the Ram\u00f3n Areces Foundation and the Universidad Aut\u00f3noma de Madrid. The Symposium is directed by Prof. Leandro Ca\u00f1ibano and coordinated by Prof. Beatriz Garc\u00eda Osma. International experts participate in the symposium, to discuss the latest developments in the main areas of contemporary accounting research, including: Capital Markets, Corporate Governance, International Accounting and Management Accounting Research.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Location and dates<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Program funded by Fundaci\u00f3n Ram\u00f3n Areces, Madrid (SPAIN).<\/p>\n<p>July 10-12, 2024<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Faculty<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The invited faculty for the 2024 edition and the documentation for their sessions are<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Prof. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chicagobooth.edu\/faculty\/directory\/c\/hans-b-christensen\" target=\"_blank\">Hans B. Christensen<\/a> (University of Chicago)<\/li>\n<li>Prof. <a href=\"https:\/\/belkcollege.charlotte.edu\/directory\/al-aloke-ghosh\" target=\"_blank\">Al Ghosh<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/belkcollege.charlotte.edu\/directory\/al-aloke-ghosh\" target=\"_blank\"><\/a> (UNC Charlotte)<\/li>\n<li>Prof. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.frankfurt-school.de\/en\/home\/research\/staff\/Matthias-Mahlendorf\" target=\"_blank\">Matthias Mahlendorf<\/a> (Frankfurt School of Finance)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In addition, we will also host an editor&#8217;s and career&#8217;s panel, that will be led by prof. <a href=\"https:\/\/business.uc3m.es\/es\/faculty\/profesor\/perfil\/beatriz-garcia-osma\" target=\"_blank\">Beatriz Garc\u00eda Osma<\/a> and prof. <a href=\"https:\/\/business.uc3m.es\/es\/faculty\/profesor\/perfil\/juan-manuel-garcia-lara\" target=\"_blank\">Juan Manuel Garc\u00eda Lara<\/a> (both from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid).\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: inherit; font-weight: bold;\">Participant Presentations<\/span><\/p>\n<p>We will host presentations by participants, after the presentations by the faculty invited, preference will be given to participants that have proposals\/papers on the topics discussed by the faculty.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Program of the Symposium<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/indem.uc3m.es\/pdf\/1717669118-Program.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">Program<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/indem.uc3m.es\/pdf\/1717669118-Program.pdf\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Registration, scholarship and fees<\/span><\/p>\n<p>REGISTRATION: FREE<\/p>\n<p>Registration is free of charge and open until June 25, 2024.\u00a0 To register, please e-mail\u00a0 <a href=\"mailto:conference_business@uc3m.es\" target=\"_blank\">conference_business@uc3m.es<\/a><\/p>\n<p>If you apply to present a paper, you must forward us the following data:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Name, Surname and University as well as filled in form (see below)<\/li>\n<li>Proposal\/Paper that you are currently working on<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Call for papers<\/span><\/p>\n<p>IT IS NOT NECESSARY TO SUBMIT A PAPER TO ATTEND THE SYMPOSIUM<\/p>\n<p>Indeed, the Symposium is structured around a number of lectures by leading experts in the field, who will discuss the most recent developments in the area.<\/p>\n<p>However, there will be opportunities for a reduced number of presentations, particularly on topics linked to the areas discussed by the Faculty. Participants can therefore submit their papers\/proposals for presentation at the symposium. Papers linked to the areas discussed by the speakers and by early stage researchers will be given preference. There will be sessions dedicated to participant&#8217;s presentations.
