Jaime Bonache is a Professor of Business Organization at the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. He holds a Doctorate in Business Administration from the UAM (Madrid, Spain) and a Master of Arts in Philosophy from Carleton University (Ottawa, Canada). He has also been a Professor of Human Resources at Esade and the Cranfield School of Management (United Kingdom), and a Visiting Professor at the Göttingen Universität (Germany). Professor Bonache has taught courses and given lectures at numerous Universities in Europe, the USA and Latin America.

His research interests focus on expatriation, international compensation, and Epistemology. He has published more than 30 articles in academic journals, including Journal of World Business, Journal of Organizational Behavior, IJHRM, Organization Studies, Human Resource Management, Journal of Business Ethics, and HRM Review. He has edited several special issues of international academic journals on trends in expatriation, together with Professors Chris Brewster (UK) and Vesa Suutari (Finland). In addition to his articles, he has written and edited four books, one of them (Dirección de Personas con Angel Cabrera) of high impact in Spanish-speaking countries. Focusing on the international management of HR, he has written a book with Paula Caligiuri and David Lepak entitled “Managing a Global Workforce” (Wiley Publishers, 2012) and another with Chris Brewster and Fabian Froese entitled “Global Mobility and the management of Expatriates”, which will be published in 2020 by Cambridge University Press.


Professor Bonache has participated in the scientific committees of the Academy of Management and other international research institutions. He has carried out consulting work for various Spanish and multinational companies and has been an advisor to the Government Accountability Officer (GAO) of the USA on the compensation of American expatriates.
