Marta Macías es Profesora Titular de Contabilidad en el departamento de Economía de la Empresa de la Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. Es doctora en Ciencias Económicas y Empresariales por la Universidad de Jaén y licenciada en Ciencias Económicas y Empresariales por la Universidad de Sevilla. Imparte diversas asignaturas de contabilidad en licenciatura y estudios de post-grado.

Su investigación se centra en el análisis del cambio en los sistemas de información contable y el resultado de la misma se ha publicado en revistas como Abacus, European Accounting Review, Accounting Historians Journal y Accounting Business and Financial History.
